Host a game night

Hosting should feel like leading the party, not running IT. Here is a short checklist you can reuse every time.

One week before

  • Pick a date and time and send a calendar invite.
  • Decide the format: how many rounds, any prizes, and whether kids play on their own devices or shared screens.
  • Dry-run the caller flow so you know where the buttons are.

Day of

  • Open the host tools 15 minutes early.
  • Post the join link or code in chat where everyone already looks.
  • Read one sentence of house rules (patterns, false bingo, mute etiquette for video calls).

While you play

  • Speak clearly and repeat numbers if anyone asks.
  • Pause for disputes; a calm host keeps the room happy.
  • Screenshot or note winners if you are handing out prizes later.

After

  • Thank your group and save any custom patterns you want to reuse.
  • Note what to tweak next time (pace, volume, break length).

You do not need a perfect script. Enthusiasm and a fair call beat polish every time.
